What food groups are best avoided when following a Paleo diet

A diet that excludes grains, legumes dairy, and processed food can provide dramatic health benefits. Paleo has recently become very popular.

What many people don't know is that there are specific food groups that should be avoided if they want to follow this diet. It is important to eliminate foods that contain grains, legumes and dairy.

This means giving up bread, pasta, pizzas chips, crackers, and baked goods such cookies, cakes, and pizzas. Additionally, you will want to reduce your consumption of traditional dairy products such as cheese and milk.

Lastly, all processed foods such as canned soups or frozen meals should also be removed from your everyday eating plan. Your body will start to thrive if you eliminate hidden sources of unhealthy fats, empty calories, and refined carbs.

Paleo is the perfect way to get back to your nutrition and to enjoy great meals. It will be a rewarding experience.

How do I know if my paleo diet is working?

Is the paleo diet right for you? Trying to assess if what you're doing is translating into results? It all comes down to measurements and attentiveness.

You can start by measuring your progress using baseline assessments. This will include measurements like body fat inches, weight and cardio levels. These individual metrics can then be used to evaluate how your body changes and develops over time.

In addition to measurements, take the time to tune into how you feel physically and mentally. Notice any changes since before or during the initial phase of the diet. Many people who are trying a new approach, such as the paleo diet, experience an energy boost or a weight loss. That said, without paying attention to those subtle signals in your body, you may miss important feedback about whether or not you should continue down that path.

Finally, if you want a surefire way of knowing whether or not something is working for your particular circumstance - take discussions with trusted professionals such as nutritionists, personal trainers, etc., who will be more than willing to help get an objective viewpoint on where you're at with regards to health goals.
