Vegan Big Mac Tacos

You can make these delicious vegan smash burger tacos in just 15 minutes at home, including the big mac sauce. These tacos are delicious for everyone in your family when drizzled with vegan big mac sauce.

It's possible you saw Big Mac tacos going viral on Tiktok and that everyone was making them. But there wasn't a vegan version. So I created a recipe so everyone could enjoy and try it! This trendy food is delicious and well worth the hype.

How to Make Big Mac Tacos (Vegan).

You'll need to prepare my vegan big mac sauce by mixing vegan mayo with ketchup and mustard. Also, choose your favorite veggie ground beef. Use small tortillas, similar in size to hamburger buns, plant-based Mexican-style or cheddar cheese. Add shredded lettuce, pickles, onion, and dill for the Big Mac flavor.

It's true that Big Mac Sauce does not use ketchup. Instead, it uses vinegar and sugar. But those two ingredients can be found in ketchup. I prefer it with ketchup. (Trust me; I have perfected the vegan version of my big mac sauce and it is by far the most popular recipe). It's easier and faster to make the sauce with ketchup because it already contains vinegar and sugar.

INGREDIENTS TO MAKE BIG MAC TACOS

  • Vegan Big Mac Sauce
    • Relish (sweet Pickle)
    • Mustard
    • Ketchup
    • Garlic Powder
    • Paprika
    • Mayo (plant based)
  • Small Tortillas
  • Veggie ground beef or veggie burgers
  • Onion
  • Iceberg Lettuce
  • Pickle Slices
  • Vegan cheddar cheese

Ingredients
  • 0.5 lb veggie ground beef, or veggie burgers
  • 6-8 small flour tortillas
  • 3 tbsp plant-based mayonnaise
  • 1 tbsp of ketchup
  • Yellow mustard 1 tbsp
  • Sweet pickle relish, 1 1/2 tsp
  • 1/4 tsp. garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp of paprika
  • Plant-based cheese in the form of Mexican-style plant-based or 1/4 cup cheddar-style, or 6-8 pieces
  • 2 lettuce leaves, shred
  • Finely chop 2 tablespoons of dill pickles
  • 2 tbsp finely sliced white onion
Instructions
  1. Make Big Mac Sauce. In a small mixing bowl, whisk together vegan mayo, ketchup and mustard. Add sweet pickle relish. Garlic powder, and paprika. Place in the refrigerator until ready to serve.
  2. Pre-heat a large skillet or pan on high heat.
  3. Press a thin layer on the tortillas in batches of 3-4 to ensure the Smash Burgers are the correct size.
  4. Place the smash burgers on a baking sheet and bake for 1 minute.
  5. Reduce heat to medium and flip burgers. Sprinkle with cheese of your choice.
  6. Cover the dish with a few drops of water to steam and melt the cheese.
  7. Once the cheese is melted, add tortillas and then transfer to a cuttingboard.
  8. Spray the pan lightly with oil, then add the burgers, tortilla-side down, and cook until they are just lightly browned.
  9. Spread the Big Mac sauce on top and garnish with pickles, lettuce and onions.
  10. If you are making more than one batch of tacos then preheat the oven to 250F and place them in it after step 8, to keep them warm, until you are ready to add sauce, pickles, onions, lettuce and other toppings.
