Introduce yourself

Chris Spath is my name. I am a 44-year-old father of three children who lives in Gilbert, Arizona. I lost 116 lbs and resolved all my physical ailments using the carnivore's diet. I am now in the best physical shape of my entire life.

How did you feed yourself before the carnivores?

I was like a child in a candy store...and a cake shop...and a fast-food joint. I stressed ate. I ate because I was sad. I ate when celebrating. All the fats and carbs together.

Why did you first try carnivore?

After starting the keto diet, plants I didn't like were forced down my throat. After doing some research, I discovered that they were not necessary and I cut them out.

What is your personal approach to the carnivore lifestyle?

I try to keep things simple, and I do so from an ancestral perspective. After I get up, I go out and exercise (hunt), eat a big meal of meats (mostly beef) (about 2 lbs), then fast (relax). Repeat daily.

What are the benefits you have seen since beginning a carnivore lifestyle?

The freedom I feel now is incomparable. I was cured of type 2 diabetes and high blood pressure. I also cured allergies, sleep apnoea, and high blood pressure. Now I don't take any medications. I used to be on many medications. I have more energy and focus. I require less sleep.

What are the negatives of a carnivore's diet?

The diet has not been a negative experience for me. I have only missed out on some treats that made me sick.

If you exercise, how do you find the carnivore food and what are you doing?

Exercise is something I enjoy and I find it very motivating. I also have the energy and motivation to keep going. I do simple muscle exercises every morning. Push, pull and raise. Set 1 pyramid to failure for each. Every afternoon, I walk for an hour in the sunshine.

What advice would you offer someone who has been considering this diet but isn't ready to make the jump?

Simple is best. You can eat the meat that you like and can afford. Salt it. Eat till full. Water is only to be consumed when you are thirsty. Every day, lift heavy objects.

Do you believe that carnivores will be accepted into the mainstream diet in the future?

I am confident that the long-term results will outweigh the propaganda of the food industry. It is similar to keto which has become accepted.

What would you like to add and how can people follow you on your journey?

Consistency and experimentation. You can try different things to find out what works best for you. Add fat. Try a leaner diet. Try organs. If you don't like them, then avoid eating them. Find your zone, and go with it.
